HEARTGARD PLUS provides protection against heartworms, and treats and controls roundworms and hookworms and is the #1 veterinarian recommended heartworm preventative.  HEARTGARD PLUS contains Ivermectin & Pyrantel and is a real-beef chewable tablet for dogs that are six weeks of age and older as well pregnant, breeding or stud dogs.

HEARTGARD PLUS (Blue, Green & Brown) is given once a month and HEARTGARD PLUS chewable tablets must be chewed. They should not be swallowed whole. Make sure that your dog gets the entire dose. For dogs that normally swallow whole, the chewable tablets can be broken into pieces.

Heartworm testing should be performed prior to the start of prevention therapy. If the animal is off HEARTGARD PLUS for 6 months or less, start the medication and test after 6 months since microfilaria, that take 6 months to mature, will result in a positive test result. It is recommended that heartworm prevention be used year round.

Use with caution in collies or other dogs with known or potential allergies to medication or beef. Do not give HEARTGARD PLUS to your pet if already taking another heartworm medication. Store at room temperature and away from children and pets.
